General

High-quality Finnish language courses at the University of Oulu offer you a path to continue your Finnish studies all the way to more advanced working life Finnish courses. These courses are taught by the University of Oulu's qualified, and much liked, Finnish-language teachers, who will be there to support you along the way.

Beginners' courses are currently only available to members of the university community.

For whom

The University of Oulu welcomes non-degree students to participate in selected Finnish language courses. Non-degree students may apply for Working Life Finnish courses organised by the Faculty of Humanities.

A number of places on each course are reserved for non-degree students, with availability varying by course. As these Finnish as a Second Language courses are part of the University's regular curriculum, most classes take place during the day. The language of instruction is Finnish.

Registration

The Finnish language teachers at the University of Oulu are happy to help you find the most suitable Finnish language course for your level.

To enrol in a course, you must first apply for non-degree study rights through the eForms system. See the instructions here.

Make sure to apply for a non-degree study right for the correct level course. If you have enrolled in the wrong course, the teacher will remove your enrollment.
