Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: 1. explain application areas of IoT and requirements from such application areas for IoT systems. 2. will be able to explain the state-of-the-art IoT solutions, and understand the basic technologies behind them. 3. learn the principles of the novel IoT technologies and know important directions IoT research towards.

20h lectures, 12h exercise sessions, independent studying 95 hours.

Attending lectures and exercise sessions, and returning the weekly exercises online. The course has one major implementation project (i.e. embedded systems project). As an alternative to the implementation project, students may also choose a simulation/data analysis project. The exact assessment criteria will be announced during the first teaching session of the course. Course work space can be found from University of Oulu Moodle platform moodle.oulu.fi during the teaching period.
