Bioinformatics and data analysis training module

This 25 ECTS course set consists of an introductory, two theoretical courses, two practical courses and a final training project.

The courses are recommended to be completed at the following order:

• Introduction and learning tools to the continuous education in bioinformatics and data analysis, 1 ECTS
• Data models and methods, module 1, 3 ECTS
• Data analysis in practice, module 1, 3 ECTS
• Data models and methods, module 2, 5 ECTS
• Data analysis in practice, module 2, 3 ECTS
• Training project in bioinformatics and data analysis part 1, 5 ECTS
• Training project in bioinformatics and data analysis part 2, 5 ECTS

In case the applicant/student does not have some previous knowledge or skills, additional courses from bioinformatics minor from FBMM can be taken:

• Bio-data, 5 ECTS
• Data mining and data-based models, 5 ECTS

• Elementary Programming, 5 ECTS

• Mathematics for biomedical data analysis, 5 ECTS

The content of training module includes:

• Preprocessing and finding biomedical data, construct and answer relevant questions.
• Different data analysis methods related to machine learning and neural networks and their requirements and limitations.
• Programming language R and software tools Keras, Tensorboard and Galaxy.

The studies are free of charge (funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture).
