Upon completing the course, you will have become familiar with the historical background of the Nordic languages (with emphasis on Swedish) as well as the political, societal, and social factors that have had an impact on the development of the Swedish language. You can also describe the relationships between the Nordic languages.

You are aware of the interdisciplinary nature of language studies.
