Material and Energy Balances I (OPEN UNI)

Basic knowledge of the high school level mathematics, chemistry and physics.

By completing the course student can formulate material and energy balances for processes which doesn’t include chemical reactions. The student knows how the created mathematical formulation can be exploited in process consideration. The student can also evaluate the correctness of the obtained results thus person is able to critically evaluate knowledge.

Exercises during the course. Exercises are reported in written form, thus written communication skill are developed.

The grade of the course is based on the points of the exercises. A certain minimum points are required of all the exercise bundle. More detailed information of the grading can be found from the Moodle page of the course.

Teaching language Finnish

Timing The course can be completed at freely chosen time. Two credits correspond to bit over a week of full time work. Although it is recommended to reserve at least three weeks of calendar time to comprehend the content of the course.
