Introduction to micro-entrepreneurship in Finland (OPEN UNI), spring 2024

The course is an independent entity and its completion does not require other studies.

After completing the course, the student

• Has become familiar with the Finnish entrepreneurial environment and understands the importance of micro-enterprises in it.
• Understands the central elements of managing and planning economically sustainable business.
• Understands the cost structure of a company.
• Recognizes the importance of company values, goals and entrepreneurial competences in sustainable business management.

Independent online learning in the Moodle learning environment.

Learning material indicated by the teacher. Material in Moodle (videos, podcasts). Online material.

Individual exercises based on a participant’s own company or a case company. Other assignments given by the teacher.

Pass / Fail Approved completion of course assignments

The target group for this course are mainly International participants who are; interested in micro-entrepreneurship in Finland, interested in becoming a micro-entrepreneur, or are already working as entrepreneurs in Finland.

This course is conducted entirely in English and provides participants with practical resources and relevant information associated with entrepreneurship in Finland. It also provides information regarding the steps and considerations that international participants should be aware of when considering, or pursuing a career as a micro-entrepreneur in Finland.
