Introduction to the basics of the science of education (OPEN UNI)

Connections to other courses: The course is part of the basic studies in education and corresponds with the seminar part of the course Kasvatus tieteellisen tutkimuksen kohteena.

After completing the course the student can

• identify some of the central objects of study of educational research
• preliminarily describe and analyze some of the key concepts of educational sciences.

Assessment: Accepted / Failed. Accepted = grade 3 on the scale 0–5. Criteria of acceptance:

• Achieving the study objectives. Good knowledge of course contents and readiness to analyse and reflect on them. Ability to use references according to instructions.

Target group: anyone interested in educational sciences, especially students in general upper secondary education / open university students.
