Intermediate Finnish Course 3 (FULL!)

By the end of the course, students can communicate in many situations using Finnish. Students are able to - understand clear and standard communication about familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school and leisure time - understand the main points of messages and conversations in colloquial Finnish - produce simple, coherent and logical text on different topics - describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions, and also explain and validate their opinions and arguments better than before - communicate about topics related to leisure time, well-being, the environment and environmental protection.

Multimodal teaching: contact teaching and self-study. Lessons 2 times a week (52 h, including the tests) and guided self-study (83 h). Moodle learning environment is used. Check the schedule of the group in Peppi study guide https://opas.peppi.oulu.fi/en/course/YK00AI94/32726?period=2024-2025

You also need basic Finnish language skills to apply for our courses.

Required proficiency level is A2.2, completion of Intermediate Finnish course 2 (900016Y) or equivalent Finnish language skills.

Kristiina Kuparinen & Terhi Tapaninen: Oma suomi 2 (chapters 6-11) and material in Moodle.

Assessment methods: Participation in contact teaching, independent work, completion of assigned tasks and tests. Assessment criteria: Continuous evaluation during the course. Regular and active participation in the weekly lessons, homework assignments and the tests will be taken into consideration in the assessment.
