Structures of Finnish, Introduction to General Linguistics and Phonetics

Students will be able to explain the consonant and vowel variations of Finnish, as well as the main sound changes and their history. They will be able to categorise the main inflectional and derivational categories, and display knowledge of the history of morphology. In addition, students will be able to analyse linguistic material from a phonological and morphological point of view.

The assessment of the course is based on the examination, and the assessment criteria are based on the learning outcomes of the course.

Grading is based on the following scale:

• 1 = 50%
• 2 = 60%
• 3 = 70%
• 4 = 80%
• 5 = 90%
