Elementary Course in Japanese 1 (OPEN UNI), The Summer University of Northern Ostrobothnia

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Recommended optional programme components 905057Y Japanese KANA Course.

Upon completion of the course the student is able to communicate both orally and literally using simple phrases and idioms. The student is able to introduce himself/herself as well as other persons and discuss daily and weekly events using relevant basic structures and vocabulary. The student is familiar with the basics of Japanese customs and communication skills.

Contact teaching (Zoom, 2-3 sessions per week, 52 hours including the final exam) and independent study (approx. 83 hours).

Regular and active participation in contact teaching, Moodle exercises and the final exam. The final exam is organized at the end of the course in the classroom. Re-examination is also available. To pass the course, student should be active in exercises and get at least 50 % scores in the final exam.
