Data processing, data management and ethics in learning analytics (OPEN UNI) Summer 2024

After the course completion student is familiar with the key ethical, legal and data literacy related concepts especially in the context of learning analytics and artificial intelligence (AI). After the course student:   - is aware of different legal and ethical aspects for designing and utilizing AI enhanced learning analytics.   - can review AI enhanced learning analytics applications from ethical and legal perspectives and recognize the risks and challenges.  - can reflect the benefits, challenges and risks of AI and learning analytics in broader educational and societal contexts. - can apply ethical principles for designing AI enhanced learning analytics tools. 

Lectures and guided learning 24 hours, independent and group work 110h, in total 134h.

Study material consist of course lectures, timely scientific articles and other materials that will be announced in the begining of the course.

​​ Assessment methods and criteria: Active participation in online classes, completion and sharing of class assignments. Assessment of learning outcomes will be done based on the students’ course products, and final assignment and/or portfolio that student produces during the course.
