Calculus II (OPEN UNI)

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The recommended prerequisite is the completion of the course ay031010P Calculus I.

After completing the course the student is able to

• examine the convergence of series
• apply power series in calculations
• determine the Taylor polynomials for simple functions
• form Fourier series in simple cases
• study the behaviour of a function of two real variables and calculate the extreme values
• calculate the integral over the planar region and the body
• describe bodies in polar, cylindrical and spherical coordinates and integrate using them as an aid
• investigate the properties of vector-valued functions, such as divergence and curl
• calculate line integral, surface integral and vector field flux
• apply Green's and Stokes' theorem

Face-to-face teaching, course material is in Moodle learning environment. Lectures 28 h / Group work 22 h / Self-study 85 h

The course is completed with mid-term exams or a final exam. When completed with mid-term exams, exercise assignments are part of the continuous assessment. The assessment of the course is based on the learning outcomes of the course.

The course utilizes a numerical grading scale 0-5. In the numerical scale zero stands for a fail.
